Default Shock arms, which one is correct?

Do you think it is ok to install my front shock arms back on as is? I am not sure if it would make a difference in performance.

Notice that one arm has a noticeable bend in it and the other is much straighter.

The straighter of the two the ball has some pitting, the curved is almost perfect. The curved has markings F-340 HE, the straight has no markings.

I am guessing one is original and one is repro.

Should I keep as is, or order two from one of the resellers?

Before Dec. 1929 the front arms were straight. After that they were curved, though the straight ones were used through 1930 until stock was used up. So since you have both, you have a choice depending on the year of your car.

Some had markings and some didn’t.

Thanks 700, the car is a 31 and not a point car. If it doesn't make a difference in performance I will just reinstall both of them.

Unless someone can say otherwise, then let it be written, let it be done!

I have the same thing on my 29 Roadster and just about to put them back on. There is not much difference in them but they definitely are different. I marked front and back but not side to side so I think I will put the slight curves on the drivers side and the straight ones on the passenger side. No one but me will notice the difference.

We all know fronts and backs are different, right?
