Default Lifters regained vs new

I have an original set of Johnson lifters that came in my 8RT. Is it worth having these resurfaced vs buying new ones from Reds? Any advantages or disadvantages between the two?

Edit: that title was supposed to be regrind. Thanks auto-incorrect.

Thanks,

If I understand it correctly, most cam grinders do it. I also understand that the convex radius that should be on the bottom of the lifter is based on very large diameter circle to give it that almost imperceptible radius.

That may explain why I couldn't detect any curve when I put two face to face and tried to rock them.

Thanks,

The original Ford spec was 96 inch radius.
Flathead Ford lifters were faced flat up to 1949.
You can tell the flat ones (new) by the circular grind marks running all the way across the face.
Actually Ford never had any orbital or spherical grinding equipment so the later lifters were ground tapered as most lifters are today.
The Ford lifters had .0002 taper. The cam lobes are tapered to match so the lifter rotates.
