Default Air cleaners for 60HP vs 85HP

Did V8 60HP and 85HP use the same dry air filter. They look the same but I've seen one with 91A prefix and 52 prefix. Measurements appear to be pretty much the same on both. I have one marked 91A but I see another marked 52. Should I spring for the one marked 52 prefix or just go with what I have. The part number is on the underside and will never be seen. (But then I'd know, and I'd probably feel bad if somebody noticed it. LOL)

Does anyone have Bob Baxter's contact info? He, Fred Wilner or Michael Driskell should know. I've left messages for Fred and Michael.) Fingers crossed.

Lawson,

You need to remind us what model year version of the V860 motor you have as the pre-'39 versions did not use a 91A air cleaner. If you are worried about the distributor cap gaskets showing, the correct air cleaner would seem to be high on your list of "things that need to be correct".

David: I have a 1939 60HP. Do you need a serial number to know the date?

So, the 91A air cleaner would be correct for my engine then? If so, that'd be nice as mine is already restored and I won't have to spring for another one. grin.

Yep. He sure did, and I appreciate the information both of you provided. Now, the only thing that still bugs me is the fan. I still cannot find the correct fan, but I do have enough verified info to cobble up something extremely close to correct, which I am in the process of doing as we speak.
