Default Starter pole shoe screws

What size is the square hole in the pole shoe screws on the starter? I know the later ones are larger than the earlier ones. Mine has a 3/8” thread size compared to the later 7/16”. I have the tool for the later ones but not for the early ones. Also , is there a supplier for them ?

Ken they would either be 7/16-14 or 3/8-16.
We stock both in square, Phillips, and slotted

Thank you. Mine are 3/8-16 square. Didn’t know you had them. I have an old parts list from Roy and didn’t see them in there. I’ll give you a call tomorrow.

I just tried measuring a generator (same screw by the parts book) and I got ,235, about 15/64, and 6mm ---it was something I was curious about, found a 5/16 square in my toolbox and tried it last week --too big, then tried 1/4 --too big, so after reading your post I found a battery and used the cheap chinese calipers I don't trust to be accurate across the scale
