Exclamation Brakes

Do proportioning values ever fail and how do they act when they do?

The only failures I've ever encountered during extreme dynamic testing allowed full master cylinder pressure to the rear axle, without any restriction. Curious, but why the question?

On my 53 Merc I put front disc brakes they worked good last summer then im gone all winter. Drove a few miles this spring all is fine all of a sudden they hardly work this setup came with power brake, master cylinder and proportion value all plumb, something has happened. I don't think it has 1000 mi on it I wonder if the vacuum assist has stop working. just my luck!

Proportioning has nothing to do with the front brakes. You need to know just what you have plumbed into your system. Many think a combination valve is a proportioning valve, when proportioning is sometimes only a part of a combo valve.

On the vacuum access the plastic adapter that the vac line plugs onto is there a valve inside it that might go bad? Here is my setup.http://jamcosuspension.com/products/.../productID/620
