1934 Radiator a splash Pan
Folks,
Where does this panel go? My google & Ford Barn Search really didn't come up with anything. I started with a body and frame so I have a lot of missing pieces. Pics will be helpful. Thanks. image.jpg |

Pretty much as it is pictured is the view from the front of the car. The hole on each side is where the lower radiator mount bolts go through.

Re: 1934 Radiator a splash Pan
WRA has received the answer to his question about these Splash Aprons. They mount under the Radiator. I have these 2 examples which I photographed. The unpainted one is off my dismantled 1933 Ford while the painted one is off my 1934 Ford. You can see that the early one has 4 attached nuts to mount it, while on the late one, has just has 2 holes? I guess that Ford must have modified this part sometime during production? I had to repair some holes in the one off my 1934 Ford, as it had rust holes from water leaking out of my Radiator. This may be a common problem with this part, sitting under the Radiator? The top photo shows how they fit allowing access for the Crank Handle. |

The deletion of the clinch nuts on the '34 version was a cost savings, but it sure made installation more difficult for the guy(s) on the assembly line.
