Default Original 40 kick panels

Here’s a photo of the original kick panel from my 40 sedan. Anyone know of a way to reproduce the stripes. ?

Ken, I believe I am the only one that has ever bothered. And now you? I'm so proud of you!

I secure the board to a flat surface with a straight edge. A table will do. I measure out and lightly mark where I want my indentations to be placed. About ten per inch.
Using a T-Square and a dulled alignment punch, I "press" the indentations in.
At this very moment, it occurred to me a "dulled" pizza cutter may work better / easier.

Thanks Kube. I was thinking along the lines of using something like a pizza cutter . How did you replicate the color?

Ken, Every authentic panel I have had, have all been of one color. Some have perhaps appeared to be two but methinks that's simply fading of the surface that was pressed.
My research did not uncover the panels to be printed. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it didn't happen.
Your panel seems to have the stripes at an angle. Is that right? If so, I have never seen that either.

About time someone gave hints on this. Was always wondering how to replicate the ribbed pattern since repops don't have it. Now where's a source for the grained panels in the trunk for a tudor? Didn't Ron Naciewitz (rip) offer them in the 80s?

About the best I was ever able to do with the trunk liners was to glue a pebble grained paper to them that was available from lebaron-Bonney.
When I got word they were going out of business, I bought a lot of the paper for my future projects.

you can get pebble grained abs plastic sheets (called haircell finish) thru McMaster-Carr Supply, plus it's not effected by moisture

Ken, Here's a photo of one I'd "made" recently.
I did look at my old - authentic panels and all are simply embossed, not printed.
I think that confirms the two "colors" you see are just fading, etc.
