king Pins
Anyone know of an old school mechanic in the Philadelphia area that can install King Pins correctly on a 1949 Ford Custom?

If your NAPA has a machine shop ask them, my local NAPA said they can.

Two names come to mind Mickey's alignment and Carlsons. Mickey was ( I've been absent 20 years ) West Philly. Carlsons was Langhorne on what used to be Rte. 1. Should hope they are still in operation. I'm certain anyone associated with them could steer you straight.
As a kid I managed to do them on a '53, Then had to do it twice to get the fit right.

you need a local machine shop, and they could care less about a 49 Ford, they mic the pin and hone or ream the bushings to fit the pin.. so walk in any machine shop and just say here's the spindle with new bushings, and here's the pin, bushings needs to be honed or reamed to fit the pins.....Remember honing / reaming is high school freshman elementary.
