My sincere condolences to Ron's family - He will be sorely missed.
Ron's story of how the term "Rainmaker" has to do with a Model T he and his dad restored. Seemed that it rained every time he took it for a drive. http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/cloatstories.htm

I never met Ron but seems that he was a great guy!
