Default Jb weld

Has anyone tried jb weld on a exhaust manifold crack? I have used it on heads with good results but am wondering about the heat of the exhaust manifold.

No, but I doubt if it will take the heat?

JB Weld can fix anything, well almost anything. The spec sheet for regular JB weld list max opperating temps at 500 degrees F. I feel that is too low for exhaust manifolds but any auto store has higher temperature exhaust "cement" but you must follow directions thoughly ie: cleaning, preperation, cure time etc. to get sastisfactory results. IMHO

Unless you are restoring your car exactly to the judging standard specs (and obviously a stove cement fix means you are NOT) then a new exhaust manifold is your best choice. At less than $100 bucks from most of the suppliers, the repo manifolds are a bargain, too. And best of all, no-droop at the rear exhaust port will mean that all your engine's cylinders will get the chance to breath evenly.

I used JB weld to close off the Air Injection tubes on a 76 Jeep CJ with a 301 years ago when I could not find plugs. Seemed to work ok for me. As for the longevity of the "fix" who knows
