Seat Wood
Doing a 29 Tudor, my rear back and cushion wood is so completely rotted out that there is not enough left for a pattern. Front wood works for pattern. Looked at a few other 29 Tudors and find that they all have something different from each other. The cost of new wood and shipping makes it so expensive and they look simple enough to make in my fairly well equipped wood shop. Does anyone have prints?
Thanks Ron Kansas |

Re: Seat Wood
Ron,
I have what you need for $55. It's an original Maple rear seat bottom wood with the 2 metal cleats riveted in place. The repro has simple lap joints, rather than the original mortise and tenon joints. I bought it some years back to do my 29 Tudor rear seat, but I sold the car as is. I'd like $55 for it, and to save shipping, I can hold it if you ever get to the Twin Cities. Send me a PM if you are interested. Due to the virus some scumbag sent me I can't get into my hotmail now. |

Re: Seat Wood
I drew up these blueprints and posted these pictures a couple years ago from my original seat bottom frame, from a 1929 Tudor rear seat, for someone that wanted to make their own. Where I wrote "tongue and groove" it should say "mortise and tenon". Given a choice, I'd certainly buy a good original, rather than spend the time and money to try to duplicate one.
