Default Trunk to Rumble Lid Conversion

I have a 1929 trunk deck lid and I need a rumble lid. Has anybody converted one to the other? How do you get the nuts behind the inner lining?

It would be easier to trade with someone going back to a trunk. Many are wanting a trunk, as it's more practical (useful).

Get original hinges to go with an original lid, unless you want to fight a repro part that does not fit in any direction. Then you just need to make up a nut plate to match. You will find the original hinges seem to want to go in the right place like you can not mess it up.

Setting up the rumble latch is just a matter of finding center and then making openings such that collar on the latch is touching bottom side of the outer panel. The other holes now just need to be made to accommodate the latch. Done this way the lid will just come out right, or so I found out.

See my website link below for a bit more about rumble lids.
