I remember when RRExpress was operational. They had
mechanics at the garage they kept the trucks service and
repair them every night. Trucks always looked good. G.M.

There was one up in New Tazewell, TN, loaded with engines. 41s also had the wide 5 wheels, at least one I bought did with the 3/4 ton rear end.

Ford started building the "TONNER" in 1938 continuing until 1941 and
it had a model designation as "Y" with85 or 60 hp. In 1940 and 41 they
offered the "Y" along with the "3/4 TONNER" designated "D"with
the same engine options plus the 4 cyl.
The TONNER had a 6.875 bolt circle with 17" rims while the 3/4 Tonner
had the 10.25(wide five) bolt circle and 16" rims.

The Railway Express Agency had many of the Tonners that were built as
cowl and chassis then finished mainly by Highland Body Mfg. in Cinn,Ohio.
