We had PIZZA B-O-B, I just didn't mention it... You know one of our Saturday Flathead play times wouldn't be complete without it...

Paul, yes, that is a '36 Roadster (not an original body) running a "full House" 8BA... Also in Keith's garage are a '33 TuDor Sedan, '34 Cabriolet, '48 Convertible, '57 Ranchero, '50 & '51 Merc's and a "glass" '32 Roadster... You know, you can never have too much fun playin' with Flatheads.

This morning, Steve drove over in his '46 Coupe and Don showed up with more parts for his '50 Convertible so, the three of us messed with his car for a while. Just before Steve & Don came over, I picked up our '63 Studebaker Avanti, complete with new air conditioning installed. Just as the rain started to fall, we were able to push the '50 up under the '39 Zephyr (on the lift), to make room for the Avanti to get in out of the rain... By then, it was time for PIZZA!!!

Hi Bill, the '63 Avanti R-1 has factory installed air conditioning, I had it working for a while but the compressor (even after being rebuilt) was just not doing the job. So I went for a new compressor and other related parts. Everything fit in the engine compartment just like the original and we did nothing to the dash board. The Avanti has a small passenger compartment, so the original "in dash" (actually in the center console) has two adjustable (directional) ports, along with one on each side of the console up under the dash. The new unit works very well. I'll try to take some photos and post them a little later, as we are experiencing some liquid sunshine at the moment.

Do you think you might make it to the Moonshine Festival in October?

Vic:
We hope to / That being said I keep putting my Ducks in a row but the darn little guys keep jumping into the pond

Boy it's SO ~ SO Frustrating,

The reason for the Question about the A/C is if it was after market is , I think I have found a car and as we know the inside of the old ones are Quite small & I want to put A/C in for Lee & the grand kids & I want some thing that is not to overwhelming for the Dash.

How warm does it get in Georgia the end of Oct. ??

Also Rooms I know sooner is better then later But are they hard to obtain.

What Do you & the others do for Security of the cars @ the hotels ??

Bill,

Last year we stayed in Alpharetta, about a 20 minute ride (North) to Dawsonville, on the Georgia 400 Hwy. Rooms in, and around, Dawsonville go quickly however, I know that some people have secured rooms in the vicinity at "late" dates.

For the most part, from my experience, the weather is cool in the evenings, requiring a jacket, but it warms up nicely during the day, T-Shirt weather in some cases. It's a good bet that you won't be needing A/C in your car in Dawsonville in October.

As a group, we have never had any problems with security for the vehicle's at the hotel. Some hotels, closer to Dawsonville, may provide additional security for vehicles but I can't tell you that for sure.

As for after-market A/C, there are a number of companies that offer "under dash" mounted air vents and controls, requiring little or no modifications to the original dashboard. I think you might even be able to find the late '50's to mid '60's under dash mounted unites.

I sure hope you and Lee can make it, we'd love to see you guys.

Yesterday I got all the components for the rebuild of the '39 Ford Convertible Sedan steering box (thanks to Mac Van Pelt ). Hopefully we'll be able to finish the rewiring of the '39 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible Club Coupe this weekend, so we can get started on the '39 CS.

Had a bonanza today , got the bolts for the '39 LZ headlight and tail light buckets from Roy Nacewicz, and an NOS accelerator pump for the carb on the '51 F-1 from Charlie NY. Thanks guys, I appreciate your help.

I installed the NOS accelerator pump in the '51 F-1 yesterday, no more hesitation in acceleration or variation in idle... Thanks again to Charlie NY. I also installed the nuts in the cages to secure the headlamp buckets to the '39 LZ. Unfortunately, the remainder of the day was spent doing yard work...

This morning Steve came over and we worked on the '39 LZ. We hooked up the electric fuel pump ground wire and ran the "hot" wire, following the new wiring harness through the frame and up to the firewall (dashboard, for all you politically correct as Henry built it guys). We also connected all the plumbing for the fuel pump. Mike showed up with the "refreshed" headlight & dimmer switches for the LZ, but he couldn't hang around because he was on a mission of mercy, taking a baby Squirrel to the Vet. After we buttoned up the fuel pump installation, it was time for, you guessed it... PIZZA. And, it was Steve's treat. thanks Steve for your help and lunch.

My pleasure. Enjoyed working on the 39 LZ. I got home just in time before this heavy dose of liquid sunshine we are now getting.

Thanks Bruce, I'm sure you in for at least as much fun as we've had messin' with the Zephyr. I love driving her and we haven't even installed the Columbia yet.

Yesterday, the Mailman delivered the Voltage Drop Unit I got from Joblot. Now, all I need, to complete the rewiring of the '39 LZ, is a starter button (different size from Ford). Hopefully I'll find one from one of the Lincoln parts vendors. This weekend my daughter, son-n-law and GRANDSON will be here so, there will be no working on Flatheads. Playing with Flatheads, now that's another story...
