Not best quality, not the best service, not family owned.

Most vendors catering to the Model A trade are hobbiests themselves. I can certainly vouch for the two I have dealt with, Brattons and Berts. Both are top notch! The only purchase I've made with Macs, was an aluminum 2 blade fan thru eBay. Buy it now price was about 10% cheaper with free shipping. It was as represented and shipped quickly. Others have not been so lucky.

I agree with slammin, Bert's and Bratton's are the go to vendors for quality and service. If you do a search on Mac's I think you will see why Mac's isn't mentioned much here, I sure don't used them after a couple less than good experiences.

While not my go to place, I have bought from Mac's and had no issues and I have found items at MAC's that no other vendor carries.

What I do like about MAC's is their online catalog, specifically their Specs Section and installation instructions. A lot of good info there. https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...model-a-specs/

As far as I know Snyders is also family owned and while they sell Model T parts, they are really more Model A.

Mike's is also family owned. I have always had a good experience with them. They are also close enough for me to pick up if I need a little windshield time.

The one I use most often is Bert's, but I have bought from all of the above suppliers, including MAC's and have no particular issues with any of them. I will further add that when I can talk to an owner or someone who has actually has pertinent experience, it really helps. Steve at Bert's fits this definition.

On the other hand, when calling MAC's, all I get is an order taker at the other end of the phone who sits in front of a computer screen who has to "consult with a technician" when asked even a simple technical question.

The person I once talked to at Mikes was helpful too, although I don't know who in particular I was talking to.

Bert's is the best by far in my book. Not only do they sell quality new parts, the sell quality used parts many of which are hard to find. Snyders is also very good. There is a very large gap between these two and the others. Just my humble opinion.

By order of preference and satisfaction:

1. Snyder's
2. Bert's
3. Bratton's

Macs would be a very last resort due to several unsatisfactory experiences.

My order of preference is berts, Snyder bratton.
I buy 99% from berts as I get personal service, Steve and I are friends and they can provide some used parts that are not repoped
All three are also active in getting parts made that previously were unavailable or poor quality.

99.9 percent of the vendors are a dream to deal with. I have dealt with a lot of different ones over the years. Most of my orders go to the guys closest to me to save on time to get the delivery then I also order based on who makes what.

I also like the Burt's, Bratton's, Snyders, Tams, and a few others. I would like to point out how lucky we are to have the suppliers that we have. Try owning an orphan brand like my 31 Willys and see how hard it is to find new or used parts. Jack

Never purchased from Mac's... Sounds like they have the same reputation of Rick's Automotive back in the 80's, with the notorious "Rick-Packs"

Mac's is now corporate owned, hard to deal with, not customer friendly, service sucks, they do carry some items that are hard to get from other vendors. They ship from other locations but you still have to pay NYS tax if you live in NY (the peoples republic of corruption).
