Hi Jim
I can't make it. Hope you win your class. Do Art and Olive still compete?

I once moved to Sacramento for several years. Nobody could define for me the 'Mason Dixon" line (so to speak) of that which supposedly defines Northern versus Southern CA. Sacto and SF are North and LA is South, but beyond that, it was always kind of fuzzy to me. Now, we have Wikipeida.

By this, Danville would definitely be Northern CA.

I kind of miss California. Especially in winter.

From Shasta or Redding, just about everything in CA is Southern.

I was working in Baton Rouge and one of the locals referred to Shreveport being “way up north.”

Agree with Jerry in Shasta. Was brought up in Redding area, and everything from Sacramento to Bakersfield was Central Calif.

This may have been posted here before, but worth another look. It’s hillclimbing, Welsh style!

Now that is the real deal ! That is how these cars were used when built new as there weren't that many paved roads!

Art and Olive both ran yesterday, neither won their class. There were at least 2 cars faster than theirs, Denny Sprecher from Utah and another from central Cal, Bob Miller (I think) was the fastest and quickest with a Serr Miller. They were running in the 8 second area at 74 MPH 'Wild Cherry', a Model T powered car (Gemsa) was really fast too. My Vicky won its class with a 10.709 run at 54 MPH. (OK, so I was the only M-4 running but it was still a respectable time) Weather was great, cool with a couple drops of rain but had no effect on the runs. Not sure how many were competing but a nice turnout with many really nice cars. Clark Crump was taking pictures, they will be in F.A.S.T. magazine.
