Default Re: Can I sit in your car?

I have T's, A's, EV8's, and a Jeep I take to shows frequently and have never seen the kind of disrespectful behavior described here and on other sites, including Militaria. I'm in the camp with, "show some interest, ask, and be reasonably tidy and I'm more than happy to let you sit in and take pictures with the car." Lots of interesting conversations that way with young and old.

One thing I've noticed, as have others including flight crew on a B-17, is there seems to be a correlation with whether there's a price of admission, even a small one, or if the event is free and the rude behavior. If there's a fee, the folks that really have an interest show up and if not, you might get "Bubba" showing up (Bubba is genderless, ageless, and multi ethnic) and showing off.

On the other hand, I took my '42 MB Jeep to dinner at Outback the other night and came out to find a group of folks gathered around it all pointing excitedly, but not touching. A brief history lesson ensued. Also, at a recent '40s event the ladies in an Andrews Sisters tribute group asked to take pictures by my '42 Sedan. Those were some fingerprints I didn't mind cleaning off one bit.
