That's my old boss from Bonneville, running the Speeddemon. I was on the team for 8 years. His hot rod collection is quite impressive.

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
At least you can see a ‘36 roadster. Some you can’t tell what they used to be. Or what they say they are. Mike

Wild looking 1936 Ford Roadster. Don't like the wheels one bit. The owner probably spent in excess of $100,00 fixing it up? |

I am complete agreement with "B-O-B". I also personally dislike the way the wheels are not properly centered in the wheel openings. Money don't always equal good taste.

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
Well....if that is 'America's Most Beautiful Roadster', the rest can't be much better!!! Sorry, not my cup of tea.
In my humble opinion, something like Kube's 'driver' 36 is 1000 times superior in all respects to this freak show.

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
And... I just showed my wife mercman for oz's enlarged photo of this thing, and asked her opinion....she replied " That's nice.... Gansta"...then she asked me what it was. I told her it's America's most beautiful roadster! Isn't it?
Incidently, my wife is actually older than me, not some young, brainless? import bride; how she can think that thing is nice is way beyond me. Maybe she is brainless? She married me! She's always on at me about selling my model T...just so she can spend the money on crap....she just doesn't get it I guess.... Sorry about the rant....

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
Dang. Lemme know when the T is ready to come home. The 36 makes me a little sad and a little proud. My Phaeton is not so hot for buyers as the roadster.

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
I've seen some pretty wild and expensively done 35-36 coupes, roadsters and cabriolets hot rodded in my day, but just give me any of those same body styles as nice original as "Henry made them" survivors, and I'd be totally happy.

Bubba thanks for posting. Good looking car. Hours and hours of labor went into that car to win the award.

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
I owe b-o-b a small apology. I re read his post today and got a different tone.
He was saying "go see the other, better looking cars on the hamb. When I first read it I thought he was saying this car shouldn't be on fordbarn and to take it to the HAMB. My fault. Sorry bob |

Re: 36 Ford wins AMBR show .......
Some beautiful cars at the show. Congrats to George. A lot of time and money spent. At this level you need something to set it apart from the rest of the competition. I think the wheels did that. Sometimes different is OK. He could have put wide fives on it but wouldn't have won.
Reading some comments I think that many here should go next year and check it out. |

Here are more photos of the 2019 AMBR car.

If someone only likes stock, boring, or run-of-the-mill cars, he or she won't like anything that ever wins the AMBR or Ridler awards. Personally, I think George and Pinkee's were spot-on with this car. It was definitely the best of the contenders.
