1936 ford radiator finish.
Hi,just getting a radiator ready to paint for a 1936 ford.Does anyone know the correct gloss for the black paint,IE flat,semi gloss or full gloss.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ken

I would go to one of the antique car paint suppliers (Bill Hirsch?) and get their radiator paint. It will probably be flat black. It will be thin so the heat can pass through it. Don't put any more than you need on.

Ken, The stuff Eastwood sells is the most accurate in my humble opinion. It's just a tad satin - not flat.

The radiator in my '36 is original to the car, never been repaired in the 65 years I have owned the car. The paint is a satin semi-gloss.

I love it! Even has a beehive. What are the air cleaners from?
(Look like two different oem types) What a great history you have w/ your '36! Have had mine for a while too. |
