Thanks. Chris. I've ever seen one. Looks like a full-size clamp in the middle? If you clicl on the URL you get a huge clear image which shows the springs and what I assume are the holes for mounting a standard bumper. Nice image.

Not 100% if this is an A or a '32...

So...

A few minutes after posting this the counter on this thread should roll around to 100,000 views. It is 20,000 views ahead of the 2nd place threat, Post a Picture of Your Car.

Here are some shots of a custom bodied truck used by the Chicago Daily News.

Thanks for all the views and all the posts.

I loved the cinder spreader where they used an old 'T' axle for the gearing.

My first post here.
I congratulate the members/posters, this is a first class Forum with a wealth of really good photos and information. Tim, especially, has made a great contribution.

I will introduce myself later and hopefully post a lot of photos of Ford A/AA/AAA and even GAZ A stuff.

But, for now, I wanted to clear up one question.
Post #338 on page 17, the miniature vehicle is a British Rytecraft truck.
Below is the original advert.

This was put together by a Blacksmith in the 40s for Mail delivery, was on ebay until June 5th, probably still in completed auctions.

Back during my AA truck days (not so long ago) I found a pix of a Model AA flatbed truck with an ENORMOUS, no, GINORMOUS load of logs. Something like 15Klbs of logs according to the caption.

I will say that the AA truck looked a little "challenged" with the load. Definitely wasn't going to blow away, although it might tip over from the appearance of the load.

I've since searched the 'net looking for the pix to transfer to this thread, but to no avail. The pix IIRC, was taken in the UP Michigan - and may have been associated with moving loads across the ice, which they're wont to do in the winter up there, of course.

I'm willing to accept any help on this. SOMEONE must have noticed the pix - and this thread is where it rightfully SHOULD BE.

Here are some of the Commercial Vehicles that were at French Lick 2014.

I have more pictures I'll post but this is good for now.

I was only there for a day so more might have shown up later in the week.

Not sure about the truck on the right, It seems it is a UK picture, the truck next to it is a drop side, most trucks there used them there to be able to unload curbside, I also see right hand drive,-- mirrors -- and UK license plates, they have to be 1931 or later as the first vehicle assembled at the Dagenham plant was in October that year, and was a double A, I also see Sheffield under the company name and short phone numbers of that era.

The T.C.Harrison business was established by Thomas ‘Cuth’ Harrison on 18th May 1931 at 17 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield and was known as T C Harrison Service and Repair. It was run by the 25 year old Cuth and a young helper, Henry Cadman.

The died in 1981.

The firm now has locations in five counties.

From the liiks of the picture, it was likely taken shortly after the firm's creation.
