Default Edsel transmission leak

hello,

seems like I have yet another transmission leak. The seal on the shift rod that goes into the side of the transmission is leaking. My question is do I have to replace that seal from the inside or is it replaceable without pulling and tearing down?

Thanks in advance.

That is a page from the FORD AT MANUAL. You can download off net, buy CD, buy old text and/or buy reprint.

Before tearing into the trans, put in a bottle of Lucas trans leak repair. It works wonders on old dry seals. Go for a twenty mile ride and return, it may help.
