George; I am not quite sure what you are asking. If it hasn't run in a long time , then there is a recommended series of steps that you should go through. They have been posted on this site many times but to give you a start check some of the following.

!. Remove the pan and valve side cover. clean sludge out.. You don't want to pump that grit through the engine when started.

2. Make sure everything turns freely with the crank.

3. Reverse flush the cooling system. Fill the engine with Evapo Rust or some similar product and let set for several days. Then flush again.

4. Check electoral system and you should be near ready to go, just wait for more knowledgeable people to respond and good luck. Jack
