Upholstery shop scrap bin, black vinyl cut into strips and you glue a strip of string down the middle and fold the vinyl over and glue it making it whatever size you want i guess. Only because i thought it would look tidier and not rub the paint off as much (unless i totally misunderstand the purpose of the wood)
