Any 12v ford generator with the same lenght housing can be a donor for fields.
There are a shorter up to 35A and a longer 40A housing if i remember correctly you want the short one.
Every fieldcoil setup is in series otherwise it would have been easy just rewiring...you need to change them out for higher resistance.
You can make a 6v generator put out 12v by just changing the regulator but it won´t last...why wouldn´t it last ??
The regulation we use is pulse regulation with the points opening and closing so we get the same issue as when running an ignition coil with to low resistance...points cant handle the increase in current and burn in the regulator...
