Default Info on Canadian Fords needed:

Information needed from CANADIAN 1950 Ford convertible owners (or those of you with knowledge of Canadian Fords.)

I am starting the restoration on my stock ‘50 Ford convertible and can’t find specific info on Canadian Fords. I have many books on ‘50 Ford restorations, but they all seem to be contradictory to some degree.

Questions:

1. No VIN number on the firewall (or tag), finally found on the right front frame leg: *0476H50-38400*. Can anyone decode this for me?

2. Were the Ford convertibles sent to Canada, all made in the US and then shipped to Canada, or were they actually built in Canada?

3. Were all the steering wheels on the ‘50 converts, black? Mine has a white wheel and don’t know if that is original. Were they different (white) in Canadian Fords?

4. The engine colour for all flatheads cars in the US were painted the Ford Bronze colour. I have been told that the Canadian version was painted a beige colour instead. Anyone know?

Thanks for any assistance.
