Thanks Frank. Both the distributor and coil came from Jim so I'm sure they are well matched. That said, still good information and I appreciate it.

If the point pit to one side you need a bigger one and to the other it needs to be smaller. The coil manufacturer will tell you whether a resistor is needed. My 49 does not have one for 6 volts. At least I do not think it does.
