Your push rod is the correct one...use it. That Green Book baloney advises to use the shorter pushrod with aluminum manifold, but doesn't stipulate which model manifold. Trust me...the set up you have is indeed correct. Green book refers to 36-37 aluminum manifolds, which have the flange exactly 1" lower, but it doesn't actually stipulate.
