Ed I think you could brass it using bronze rod just pre heat it ,fill the hole then add some bronze on the end of the bracket to lengthen it then re drill the hole slightly over to line up . This way there is no join in it but the load will be on the casting still .I may have to do the same as I have a re poped bracket to .Ted
