My opinion is not worth a lot perhaps, but I don't think any kind of plastic repair like epoxy or fiberglass would hold up to the operation of a hinge. I think you would end up redoing it sooner than you would like. Repo everything is crap. You have to buy it knowing you will probably have to modify it to work properly. A welding shop could probably do that for you if you don't think its within your expertise.
