The only thing I can think of is (might be wrong) that the bolts are now too long and are bottoming before pulling the pressure plate down. I think I'm right in saying the 59A has blind holes.

You might need to shorten the bolts or use a washer. also check how deep the counterbore is. Also are they the correct bolts with the right length of plain shank?
