Sounds like a great day!

When the gap between the brass rotor "tab" and the contacts inside the distributor body is too great, You can gently bend the brass tab up to decrease the gap. Be careful that you don't break the rotor tab loose from the bakelite, or break the rotor itself. It does not take much to close up that gap.
