The instruction sheet that came with your regulator indicates it is for a type A circuit and therefore you cant use that regulator with any Ford generator made from 1939 onwards. Ford generators are type B field circuit and require only a type B voltage regulator. Make sure those instructions are the ones that belong to that regulator. Check the part numbers on the reg and on the sheet. Regards, Kevin.
