merc, right you are about routing exhaust with the body on. When I built my Deuce roadster, I did the exhaust with no body on the chassis. Made it a dream to work on. When I built my '46 Woodie I was advised by several "experts" not to remove the body. When I replaced all the body mounts I did so very carefully as to not tweak the body. And as you correctly state doing the exhaust with the car on jack stands was a real PITA. Keep at it, nice job!
