All '55 Mercury's in the USA except the Montclair came with the 188 HP 292 Y-Block V8. The Montclair came with the same 292 as in the '55 T-Birds with 198 HP. (7.5:1 compression ratio compared to 8.5:1 in the Montclair).

My question is, did all '55 Mercury's come standard with dual exhausts, or was it just the Montclair ?
