My second car once I decided to start banking some money, was a $150 Ford Pinto that needed a water pump., the hood paint was ruined, and had the rear quarter window broken. Drove it about 3 years, learned to do brakes, points, belts and lots of other work on that car. It was a good way of sifting through the gold diggers vs the women with vision as well.
I did the same wanted a model a in the worst way but had to settle for a 67 mustang fastback (400 dollars and was a driver) I did all the paint motor and interior work in high school with the help of my dad. I was 28 before I got my model a. Things have changed now I can afford the a but not the mustang!
