Mine is a '36. I did convert but if I were to do it again, I would not. I ran a 2-port for several years with the pads and never had a wear problem. 2-ports were easier to oil as they had holes in the covers to squirt thru. My 2-port had been converted to adjustable rocker arms, so the guides were eliminated. The 4-port has worn the push rod guide bushings in the head.
