I get that, and I’ve used Newport. Somewhere along the line (lost in the fog) was an article on putting a GM unit under the dash of a Ford to replace the vacuum units. Damn, if I could just remember half of what I used to know.

When I was a student I spent most of my time in junkyards. Time was cheap, and you could pull your own in those days. About all I bought new was plugs, points, and oil filters.
