This looks like a perfect candidate for a rubdown with GIBBS OIL ! That might be the original paint.
Google GIBBS OIL. I think that you have to order it.
Spraying the paint and rust with WD40 will give you a prevue of what it will do for your car. GIBBS OIL will do a much better job.
I have no connection with GIBBS OIL.
