Dan, first check all your grounds. There is a ground that goes from the headlight plug to the headlight bucket. Make sure it's a good clean ground. As a test also run a ground from the bucket to the frame. Often with a new restoration paint and the gaskets between the bucket and the fender cannot make a proper ground for the lights.
