IMO removing the hood is overkill, unless its the early alum. ones. If the hood hooks work, then all 4 corners are secured. If in doubt, pull a pair bungee cords over the hood and lace to the hood hooks. Bungee cords are helpful in towing a T on a open trailer, you can bungee doors closed for safety and bungee the lowered top too.

Removing a T hood is easy, pull and twist up all 4 hood hooks so they clear the sides of the hood. Then approach the T from the front of the radiator. Have a nice wingspan to both your arms, pull up each side panel handle, til the sides almost fold together.

Then lift, front end first to get the center hood rod free of the open retainer on the radiator shell, then pull up and away to get the hood rod clear of the cowl retainer. Lift the assembly high to keep from scratching the paint on the radiator, cowl, and hood.
