Default Re: Exhaust sleeve

FWIW
Look at the fit up of the connection at the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe, there is some latitude for movement, small but it is not a rigid connection.

Putting a sleeve in the exhaust pipe where it connects to the exhaust manifold makes that connection rigid.

Keep in mind that the front engine mount allows for some vertical movement.

Also the exhaust tail pipe is in a clamp at the rear of the vehicle.

The advice of one our senior club members is that the sleeve will put stress on the exhaust manifold, and he does not recommend using a sleeve.

If you don't have time to do it right the 1st time, how do you have time to do it the 2nd time?
