Default Re: Throttle return spring and baling wire

Several years ago I spent the whole day, I mean all day,
almost 8 hours,
making up the neatest little bracket to actuate the brake light switch on my roadster.
It was a work of art. Really.
The first time I stepped on the brake it broke/bent and deformed
It was so bad there was no saving it.
I calmly went in the house and got a wire coat hanger.
Not one of the skinny ones... this was a heavy wire coat hanger.
After all this was for a safety item ...no cutting corners with safety here !
It took me less then 5 minutes to bend it to shape and install it.
It worked perfectly and is still on the car 4000 miles later.
So in answer to your question..... about the bailing wire/spring.....Looks good to me !
