Prior to refitting starter motor:
Remove spark plugs for easy turn over of engine.
Mark ring gear at starter motor hole. Turn over and inspect ring gear teeth.
May require some" dressing" prior fitting replacement starter. Also piece of mind for ring gear tooth damage or movement on flywheel.
All the best.
