You can make one. If you look where each end lands, there is a square depression in the piece you have. The piece you need is very skinny in the middle where it needs to be to clear the steering column tube. If you take a piece of round metal maybe 1/8" diamert the right length and hamer flat the ends it will look pretty much like the original. No fasteners hold that in place. I think I have an extra original, as at one time I had 4 40s. I will look today and if I can find it, will PM you for your mailing address. I would gladly give it to you.
