I think any work done would hurt the sale. I prefer to buy something as original as possible. Just the other day I bought an intake manifold at a garage sale and had to pay extra because the owner was so proud of the green paint. To me it looks like it was painted over rust, so now I need to sandblast the paint and rust to paint it correctly. Paint on bady panels is even worse because I figure it might be covering bondo.
