I believe a Cruise-O-Matic (3 speed) will bolt in and is the same length.
Units from the 1950’s are all iron housing but starting in the 1960’s the bell housing and tail housings were changed to aluminum (the center section remained cast iron).
These transmissions were used on full sized Fords through 1965 and pickups through 1967.
