Strange to think they are most gone. I remember it was not long ago when the last of those that fought the Great war were passing. not many New Zealanders fought in Normandy as our troops were confined to Italy but we had a number of pilots with the RAF who were there. I'm visiting my daughter in London in October and plan to visit Normandy as I read a lot of military history

My number plate frame on my mustang is a reminder.
