From my experience. Once the sealer has set up and seals all may be OK, but if the seal is tightened or the part is taken loose the sealer can break apart/up. So it is best if using sealer to completely clean it completely, and reapply fresh if adjusting, or taking things apart. I had small bits of hardened sealer get into the passages, jets, wells when I took apart a carb, did not get rid/clean of all the old sealer out of the carb before reassembling.
