George, I had a similar problem with my 77 F150 and 39 a well. I have since added the Star Tron fuel treatment on fill ups and have been getting my fuel only @ the local BJ's club station were I fuel all our vehicles now.
Stale fuel it sound like. Keep us posted and give that 39 a little more "love", hire a buddy to drive it once a month
