When replacing my pulley/ratchet nut had to do this.
Get the wrench handle up against a frame member, ignition off, bump the starter. Can not remember if I had to take the motor splash pan off. Only a momentary bump on the starter to reduce the chances the wrench could go flying and cause damage.
Details of this old mechanics trick:
Ignition key off, additionally pull fuse or coil wire for safety.
Put wrench on nut, put in 3rd gear, push car forward until wrench is seated against frame.
Set hand/e brake, shift into neutral, bump starter
Nut should be freed so you can wrench or use your had to completely remove.
Remember to hook up fuse coil wire when done.
